Wedding Celebrancy and Vow Renewal
If you are reading this because you have recently got engaged, congratulations, how exciting!
Maybe you’ve already thought through the details of your imagined, ideal wedding, or perhaps you are just at the beginning of the planning process? Either way, I’m here to help you create a beautiful, elegant and romantic ceremony with gorgeous words that show the world just how much you mean to one another.
The joy of an Independent Celebrant-led wedding is that you can have the ceremony exactly as you want it. You can include religious or other faith-based elements and traditional or invented wedding rituals, whatever you like. The wonderful thing is that you don’t have to include anything you don’t want, you can have the ceremony exactly as you choose it.
I’m here to give you information and suggestions about what’s possible, and together we can design your big day to be filled with magic, love, laughter and friendship. It’s your love story, unique to the two of you, which is why the ceremony I write for you will be truly bespoke and unlike any wedding you’ve been to before. Plus, I know lots of fabulous wedding locations in London and around the UK, so if you’d like some suggestions just ask!
In addition to choosing a celebrant with excellent listening and writing skills (a sense of humour helps too!), you’ll also need an experienced and meticulous organiser. Someone who pays exceptional attention to detail; is kind, patient, and calm, and who, on your big day, is a warm, welcoming, and professional person to oversee the proceedings and welcome your wedding guests. Look no further, that’ll be me!

If you’d like to take things forward, we can have an initial, no obligation, introductory meeting, preferably in person, but online is also possible, where we can discover if we are a good fit for each other.
Let’s suppose that goes well, and you think I’m the warm and experienced person you can trust with your wedding ceremony. In that case, we can arrange to meet in person for a more extended session, during which I’ll hear all about your love story, and we can talk through your thoughts on who and what you’d like to include in your ceremony. Whatever works for you, works for me. I’ll want to hear all about you as individuals as well as being a couple, the good bits, what you love about each other, and let’s be honest, it’s fun to hear some of the bad bits that you’re not so keen on too!
Then I can write a moving and entertaining script for your ceremony that genuinely reflects the two of you and one that you and your guests will remember with happy memories, forever.
Vow Renewals
A vow renewal ceremony is when a married couple wish to reaffirm their commitment to each other. This can be for any number of reasons, including reaching a special anniversary, overcoming a difficult time in their lives or perhaps getting back together after a separation. Whatever the reason, it is a joyous and life-affirming thing to do!
There is no legal status to a vow renewal ceremony so you have complete freedom to tailor the event to however and wherever you would like to do it. For example, you could re-dedicate your original wedding rings to each other (if you can get them off your fingers these days!), or exchange new rings and share new vows that reflect your lives now. It’s rather lovely for children to witness their parents renewing their vows, as they weren’t usually around the first time it happened.
Please do get in touch if you’d like to discuss a Vow Renewal ceremony further and we can arrange a no obligation meeting (preferably face to face) for me to hear your story and discuss what you have in mind. If that goes well and you’d like to proceed, I will request a non-refundable deposit to secure the date and begin writing a unique ceremony just for you. The script can, of course, be edited and amended as many times as necessary to ensure we get just the right words to reflect your special day.
I can arrange for you to have an elegant Vow Renewal Certificate to sign (optional) and once the ceremony is over, I will give you a beautifully bound souvenir copy of the wording for you to keep as a reminder of your special day.
